If you love birds, you’ll love Mkomazi National Park – the park has recorded more than 400 different species. You’ll also enjoy the wildness of the place, from the baobabs and acacia trees to the lack of crowds, with good views of Mt Kilimanjaro thrown in.

When it comes to wildlife, elephants are increasingly a possibility – the return of elephants from across the border in Kenya is a wildlife success story. You might also see oryx, eland, kudu, Coke’s hartebeest and the long-necked gerenuk while you’re here.
