Kikuletwa Hot Spring Day Trip

Daily Tour 1 day
Kikuletwa Springs (Maji Moto), Rundugai, Tanzania Tour Guide: KiliTwende

Kikuletwa Hotspring gets its name from the water that bubbles in underground caves. Surrounded by fig trees, this area is a hidden gem in the midst of a semi-arid landscape.

Here you may find a diversity of colorful birds amongst an abundance of plant life and neighboring indigenous tribes. There is also an option to camp overnight and hike. We will pick you up in the morning. The ride to the hot springs is partly over bumpy slopes and takes about an hour. First, we go past sugar cane plantation and then we come across the African scrubland. Dried river beds, baobab and acacia trees are seen all along the way.

The hot springs of Kikuletwa which also bear the name of Chemka Hot Springs are close to the village of Rundugai and are among the most beautiful places in Tanzania to unwind. The small pond located in here is surrounded by tall palm and fig trees. In the braches, blue monkeys can be observed playing cheerfully. The clear spring water entices you to take a refreshing bath. Even though they are referred to as hot springs, the water is not generally hot and is fed by the glaciers of Kilimanjaro themselves.

Enjoy a wonderful day in just the way you want, in the sun dozing, chatting with the locals at the small bar, or swimming – you determine the course of this day. At noon we will have a picnic lunch, and in the late afternoon we return relaxed to Moshi.
