Mandara Hut is the first hut of Marangu Route which is also referred to as Coca-Cola route.
The walking will start from the starting point of Marangu Route at 1970 meters which is just an hour drive from Moshi Town. Experience the serene and untouched nature of montane forest where Mandara Hut is located on the border of the forest belt just below the Maundi Crater.
After you’ve covered the montane forest, you’ll shortly enter the heath and moorland vegetation which is characterized by endemic flora. At Maundi Crater, you’ll get to witness magnificent views of Mt. Kilimanjaro along with sightings of varieties of birds, primates, and trees and flowers.
This trip provides excellent exploration of montane forest, streams heading downward to rural and urban town of Moshi. Visit Maundi crater that give nice view of Lake Challa, Lake Jipe, and Usambara Mountain and Ambosel national park in Kenya. Trails are well established that give excellent trekking.
After an early morning breakfast drive to Marangu gate from Moshi, after registration at the gate, you will start trekking heading to Mandara hut, arrive Mandara hut and enjoy your picnic lunch, after lunch you will continue toMaundi crater, when the weather is clear you will get a nice view of Lake Challa, Lake Jipe, Usambara Mountain and Ambosel national park in Kenya. Descending to Marangu gate and drive back to your hotel.
